How to Find Your Life Purpose on Purpose
One of the most significant challenges haunting individuals in all walks of life as they enter the work force, transition through middle age, and move into in their senior years, is finding and appreciating one's life purpose. There's a simple way to help you discover your life purpose, and do it on purpose, not haphazardly. Create a life purpose speech.
Motivation and business gurus suggest we should have an “elevator speech,” a concise, brief message about ourselves that communicates who we are and what we do to benefit a company or organization. It’s like a commercial we create for ourselves, one we can deliver in the time it takes to ride from the top to the bottom of a building in an elevator, about 30 seconds.
A Thoughtful Process of Answering Questions
The creation of an elevator speech is not an easy thing to do. It begins with a thoughtful process in which we answer a combination of the who, what, why, when, where, and how questions. It ends with a difficult and purposeful editing process, difficult because most of us like to talk about ourselves.
The creation of a life purpose speech is a deliberate process of answering fundamental questions about who we are, and what we should do to fulfill our God-given purpose in life. While many people go about their lives haphazardly living from day to day without having a clue about what God wants them to accomplish, you have an opportunity to find your life purpose on purpose.
You are the way you are for a reason. You’ve experienced what you have for a reason. Who you are, what you have experienced, and what drives you to act, all play a role in determining how you fulfill God’s purpose for you. Once you prayerfully complete your life purpose speech, you can be confident God is directing you because he doesn’t make mistakes.
A Mosaic of Your God-Given Purpose
The answers you discover form a mosaic that tells you who God wants you to be and his purpose for you. Once you define your God-given purpose and determine whether or not your life aligns with it, you can make adjustments going forward to align your life with your purpose, your destiny. You’ll have made a deliberate effort to obey God as you walk a path predestined for you.
At that point, you will be able to answer these core questions: How can I live out God’s purpose for me in all areas of my life? How will I make sure I keep on track? And, who will be there to support me? If you walk in prayerful obedience to God, he will provide answers to these questions and the resources you need to fulfill your life destiny.
