Christian Walk: Mission Impossible

Our Christian Walk, a journey that requires us to walk on this earth in the shoes of Jesus Christ as much as humanly possible, is a Mission Impossible once we've accepted it.

"What!" you say. "Shouldn't the Christian Walk be a walk in the park, all sunshine, green grass, and brilliant flowers?"

Actually, the story started out that way, a walk with God in a beautiful garden, didn't it?

Christians who have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, don't walk on clouds. We walk on the earth. We walk on where our faith manifests itself, where the rubber on our shoes meets the road, in our personal lives, our professional lives, and every corner of our lives.

Our faith affects the way we live, and the way we live reflects and affects the way we practice our faith day in and day out. That means our Christian walk takes us through challenges, disappointments, and yes, even suffering.

That's when we learn that no matter how strong we are physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually, we can't successfully walk the Christian Walk without a deep, heart-felt and soul-felt faith in a living God who walks beside us and a Holy Spirit who guides us.

Only then does our Christian Walk become a Mission Possible.

In God's Words

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

"Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess." (Deuteronomy 5:33)

"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16)

In the Words of Others

"Obedience is the secret of guidance. Every Christian should live a God-guided life. If you are not guided by God, you will be guided by something else. The Christian that doesn't know this sense of guidance in his life is missing something vital. Take obedience with you into your prayer hour, for you will know as much of God, and only as much of God, as you are willing to put into practice." Eric Liddell

"The remedy for discouragement is the Word of God. When you feed your heart and mind with its truth, you regain your perspective and find renewed strength." Warren Wiersbe

In Your Words

Lord Jesus, I pray you will come beside me on my Christian walk and hold my hand when I am unable to accomplish what you want done. If I fall, lift me up. If I stumble, catch me. If I waver in my commitment, steady me. I pray this in your name, Jesus.
